Why did you join the community?: To help me stay motivated to change my lifestyle. I have a horrible tendency to do really well for a month and then lapse back into bad habits for the next three or four, before I get sick of feeling like crap again. I'm hoping that having some support and inspiration will help it stick this time around.
Current weight: 271.
Long term goals: I'm in the process of kicking my fast food habit. I work 10 hour days, and usually have school on top of it, so it's always been tempting for me to stop and get a burger or pizza to take home instead of cooking. I'm trying to put together a collection of easy, healthy recipes that also taste good.. it's not going well. Ahem. I also need to get back to exercising EVERY day; currently all I've been doing is 45 minutes of yoga every other couple of days. I have a desk job, so I'm pretty much sedentary of late. Overall, my goal is basically to get to the point where incorporating good diet and exercise into my life is a pleasurable, seamless sort of thing, rather than a chore.
A little about you: I work for my parents, who own not one but two companies (in which I have little interest apart from the fact that I gotz to git paid). I’m going to school to be a librarian, a career for which I already have plenty of cardigans and an appropriately crotchety attitude. I bought my first house this summer; I live in it with my lazy brother and our lazy dogs. These days I spent entirely too much time watching House, which has totally ruined me for any relationship not with a snarky, emotionally-repressed man who owns a cane for his painful limp. Oh well.
